June 4, 2014 — -- Keira Knightly has often been asked about her weight, or lack thereof.

The "Begin Again" actress is now saying the comments affected her so much, that because of them, she would not encourage any of her future children to take up acting.

Asked if she would encourage her hypothetical teenage daughter to be an actress, she told ELLE UK, out on newsstands this week that, "Oh, 100%, I’d absolutely tell her not to. I would 150 million trillion per cent be totally discouraging of [her] doing anything like that."

She continued, "If the kid is going to do that then they have to do it on their own. And I would say teenage years should be done privately. You should be going out and getting unbelievably drunk, getting into ridiculous situations, making mistakes. That’s what that time of life is about and we should do that privately, one million trillion zillion per cent. Saying that, I don’t regret it – I wouldn’t do my life any differently."

Knighty brought up a time in her life where she said all people would do would bring up her weight and skinny frame.

"There was a very long time when [interviewers] were all: 'Well you’re a sh*t actress and you’re anorexic and people hate you' which, for a teenager or somebody in their early 20s, is a very strange thing," she added.

On a brighter note, Knightley married rocker James Righton last May and revealed a second, secret wedding she had for just close family and friends. In that private affair, she wore a Valentino dress.

"I wore it for the ceremony we had just for our friends, in a wood, because you have to have flowers on a dress in a wood," she said.

Knightly is also very opinionated about the opportunities for women in Hollywood.

"There is an under-representation of our stories, just as there is an under-representation of us in politics and in business and everywhere," she said. "We are still not equal ... you have to recognise that the playing field isn’t even yet – and it does have to be even."
