What Makes SNSD Unique

The name SNSD (Girls’ Generation) has been famous for 4 years until now. If you’re a fan of them, maybe you’ve watched the reality show Girls’ Generation Go to School which introduce the viewer how Girls’ Generation was before they made their debut and how they debuted. If you’re a fan and you’ve never watched it before, I recommend watching it because you’ll know more about SNSD.

Actually, because of that show, I started to like them and wanted to know more about them. After that, I started to watch a lot of shows about them and eventually I now know a lot about them. I just realized after that, SNSD is really unique. They are really different from most singers or actress, especially in my country. So, I guess I was fascinated by how different they were compared to most singers that I usually see.

Usually, most singers or actors/actresses (in my country) have an image of how they are different from ordinary people, how they are special, flawless, and how they always want to look good in front of other people because they’re famous. Actually, that makes them look arrogant and proud. That isn’t the case with SNSD and other Korean singers and actors/actresses.

From what I see, Korean celebrities tend to be themselves more than trying to look perfect in front of cameras. The same goes to SNSD. As long as I have been watching their show, I’ve never seen them trying to look different than their real selves in front of the camera, even though they’re idols. For example, Taeyeon is known for her ahjumma (auntie) tendency, which means her personality, her acts, and her way of talking is like an auntie. Also, Sooyoung is known for her humorous self, Tiffany is known for her bright personality, Sunny is known for her short height, and so on. All of the SNSD members have their own strengths and weaknesses. But, they don’t show people their strengths only. They also show their weaknesses, which rarely happens to celebrities in my country. So, I feel like I know them not only because I like their strengths, but also because I accept their weaknesses.

Well, the point is, don’t try to look perfect. Everyone has their own weaknesses. But, having weaknesses doesn’t mean that you’re bad. Also, sometimes look perfect doesn’t always make all the people around you like you. Instead, be yourself and people will like you as how you are.

That’s it for now. See you again later!

SNSD Concert in Indonesia Might Be a False Rumor

SNSD (Girls’ Generation) has finally ended their last solo concert in Singapore. It was held on December 10th, 2011 for 2 days. It was their first solo concert in Singapore because before, they had a concert in Singapore with some other Korean singer.

I’m really sure people all around Asia have gone jealous with Singapore people because they got to watch SNSD’s concert. Of course, it also includes people from Indonesia. I really, really, really want to watch their concert, no matter how expensive the ticket is.

There was this rumor some time ago, that SNSD will hold their 2nd Asia Tour at some Asian countries. Those include Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines, and Thailand. It was rumored like that because of the “leak” of S.M. Entertainment‘s schedule for SNSD. You can see the schedule under this post.

However, that “rumor” is also rumored to be false. I got this by browsing through the web, when I was trying to get some information about this. Firstly, the reason that the rumor is false is because some guy said the schedule looked like it was translated from Google Translate. Well, I don’t really know if that’s true because I can’t really understand Korean yet. But, this might be true because I haven’t seen any news from S.M. Entertainment itself about this matter. I usually watch a lot of news from S.M. Entertainment, and I never even once heard that SNSD was going to Indonesia.

Secondly, this one I just got it yesterday. As I said before, SNSD went to Singapore for a concert on December 10th, 2011. However, what’s written in the schedule is that SNSD was going to Singapore in February. It was really different. Also, I just read a news from Facebook SMTown, and it says that SNSD is going to hold another tour in Hong Kong on January 15th, 2012. That’s just totally different from the schedule. Hong Kong is not even in the schedule, after all.

So, I’m also sad to say this but, SNSD might not come to Indonesia and some other Asian countries on 2012. I know, I really can’t accept it, too. I totally wish that SNSD will come to Indonesia. Well, that can’t be helped. I’m sure what we can do now is just to stay patient and pray a lot for their coming to our countries. Also, don’t forget to always support them, for the fans out there. I’m sure if we give our best in supporting them, one day they will hear our support and come to us.

Well then, that’s it for now. I’ll see you next time. Bye.

So Nyeo Shi Dae, Fighting!!!!

She’s Really Funny! She’s Really Sunny!

You know, what I like about SNSD is they don’t act like someone else in front of cameras. Every member of SNSD has their own unique personality. One of the member that I really like is Sunny. At first, when I saw the 9 members of SNSD, I automatically thought “Taeyeon is pretty, Yoona is pretty, blah blah blah, but Sunny… is just okay”.  Well, I was wrong.

Not too long after, one of my friend posted a video from youtube on his facebook profile. The title was “SNSD Members Can’t Stand Sunny’s Aegyo“. I clicked on it and watched it. My heart melted. She was like, totally cute! I never knew that side of her before. And once I knew it, I fell in love with her.

Just yesterday, I watched a Korean variety show Invincible Youth episode 28. It was a reality variety show where SNSD Sunny and Yuri were in with some other Korean girl group members. As you know, a variety show is made to be funny.  In this episode, there were guests who had been invited. They were comedians from the Korean show Gag Concert. Because of that, this episode turned into a Special Gag episode of Invincible Youth. And Sunny, despite being a girl group member, showed that she could also be a comedian in front of cameras. She was really the funniest among all the girls there. Even the comedians approved of that. After that, I had another reason why I love her because I really like funny girl.

Back then, I had a thought and I realized that SNSD will also age. They’re all young and energetic now. But, once they hit their thirties, I think they won’t be as popular as now. However, I think Sunny has an advantage over this matter. If you watch a lot of Korean talk show or variety show, they usually invite a guest. The guest isn’t always a young singer or actress. But, they usually invite a singer or actress on her thirties, too. And usually, the guest is invited because she is funny, ‘cuz that is the main reason for variety show, fun. When I looked at Sunny, I think she would do well in her thirties, even forties because she is really funny. I’m sure a lot of people will still love her even after she ages, not because of her beauty, but because of her personality.

My point is, you can’t really judge someone’s quality only by looking at his/her appearance. I never imagined before, when I looked at her picture at the first time, that I’ll be loving her this much. However, look at me now. That’s because what I really like is not her appearance, but her personality. So, to conclude this, I’ll just say : “Even if someone’s appearance is like a dirty rock, their personality might be like a diamond. So, don’t just throw those dirty rocks you see. Maybe if you clean it up a bit, you’ll see a diamond inside.”

P.S : I’m not referring Sunny as a dirty rock. She is already a diamond at the first time. And then she turned into a pink diamond after I cleaned it. LOL.
