I am a home builder/re-modeler and have owned this drill, who I referred to as "Big Bertha" for over 10 yrs, she finally passed today, Sep 9, 2018 and will be greatly missed. However, she will be reborn this week when I stop by my favorite home remodeling store, "LOWES!" to pick up another one. I have done so many jobs with Big Bertha in the rain, sleet, and snow. She has build many floors, kitchens, decks, bathrooms, and full basement installs. She has been thrown around, dropped, rained on, thrown, kicked, splatter with concrete, painted, and even ingested a little bit of grout here and there. Big Bertha was great for mixing thin set, concrete, grout, and many other heavy consistency liquids due to her robust 10amp strength. In addition, she has done a lot of screwing... of screws! This drill WILL NOT do you wrong. Big Bertha has been very faithful and loyal... please purchase this drill if you need a heavy job done right..and fast! The drill works very well for normal drilling work. However, I was trying to drill through a 7 inch timber and still can not find a drill bit that will handle the job and not bind down the drill. I tried spade bits as well as auger style and they all would bind it down.

I looked for a higher amp drill but could not find one small enough for the area being drilled yet powerful enough to do the job.

It does work great for smaller timber or wood drilling.

After realizing my 18V Milwaukee wasn't going to drill my 2-9/16" holes with a self feed bit, I used an old corded drill until I burned up the motor.

I did a quick search for a reasonably priced, powerful drill and this one caught my eye. After picking it up at Lowe's, I am very impressed with the power. It drilled four of my holes in a few minutes, where they were taking 15 minutes each before.

The price is great considering how powerful this little drill is. It's reasonably light weight, although I wouldn't take it on a backpacking trip.

I only wish it had a keyless chuck!

Great drill for a great price. Would definitely buy again, although I don't expect I will need to for a VERY long time. This drill will last.

Let me start by saying I've had this drill since 2010. I still love it. It's powerful. I've used it to mix thinset, mortar and concrete. I've cut so many hole to install locks and drill so many holes with this tool. My only regret was not buying the hammer drill instead. Now I have two corded dewalt drills. After ten years I will have to change the chuck. I really have to give it an extra crank to keep accessories put and sometimes they may still eventually get slack and fall out. This is not a complaint. Just saying I've really worked this drill out, and after ten good years and a lot of work this is my eventual issue. I finally need a new chuck from wear and tear.
