10 يناير 2024The drill works very well for normal drilling work. However, I was trying to drill through a 7 inch timber and still can not find a drill bit that will handle the job and not bind down the drill. I tried spade bits as well as auger style and they all would bind it down.
I looked for a higher amp drill but could not find one small enough for the area being drilled yet powerful enough to do the job.
It does work great for smaller timber or wood drilling.
Great Corded Drill

4 سبتمبر 2020I bought this drill a few weeks ago to have in my arsenal in addition to my cordless set of drills for drilling in tougher situations and mixing concrete in 5Gal buckets. It mixed like a dream, got pretty hot as to be expected. The secondary handle makes mixing a dream, and the 10 volts proved helpful over my coworkers older, lower voltage, corded drill. I also used it for drilling some 3/4" holes through a trippled up 2x12 beam and it went through super easy. As it is a more powerful drill it is a bit heavier than the lower voltage drills, but the secondary handle offsets the weight, and I find anytime I'm using a drill for this much power I'm rarely using it one handed anyways. The secondary handle is designed really well, easy to adjust and its locking mechanism is solid. Additionally, as it is more powerful than other drills, it is also more expensive, but I find it worth the money if you need the extra power. Good drill, good design. Almost went with the hammer drill version of this drill (DWD520) but between this drill and my rotary hammer, I found that unnecessary and worth saving the money. The build of the drill seems tough so far and I expect it to last me many years.

17 أبريل 2017This weekend I bought the Dewalt DWD210g drill specifically for an upcoming project where I was going be working in a tight 2 1/2 foot attic space for a week. I normally use my home grade Rigid 8.5 amp 2 speed hammer drill from Home Depot to drill through top plates and studs but for this job I needed a drill that was shorter in length and lighter in weight since I was going to be working in a confined space. After many hours of research I decided buy the "contractors grade" Dewalt drill and bought the DW511 8.5 amp drill. I decided to test it out first by drilling into a 4x4 using a 1" auger x 8" and it got stuck. Couldn't back the drill out or go forward. NOT IMPRESSED with Dewalt so far. So I grabbed my Rigid 8.5 amp drill and backed out the stuck bit without any problems. So then I went back to the store and bought the bigger Dewalt 10 amp drill and when I got home did the same test. This one also got stuck! However unlike the DW511 I was barely able to reverse the bit out of the wood with the DWD210g.
In conclusion, my home grade 8.5 amp Rigid out performed the Dewalt DW511 8.5 amp drill AND the Dewalt DWD210G 10 amp drill. I'm guessing the Rigid's 1000 rpm speed was enough of a torque increase to outperform the Dewalt 10amp 1250 rpm drill. In the end I decided to keep the DWD210g for the smaller size foot print (about 3" shorter) and lighter weight (about 4lbs lighter) BUT I will have my Rigid 8.5 amp drill on standby to bail the Dewalt drill out if need be. I would recommend this drill if you need a smaller lighter drill but if you need higher torque when drilling with a 1" by 8" auger then I would not recommend this drill especially if you are using a 18" long auger.
[Rewarded Review] A lot of drill for the DIY-er

25 فبراير 2017For those that might be wondering, a 1/2-inch drill, as well as its smaller counterpart, the 3/8-inch drill, refers to how wide the chuck opens.
In all honesty, there will likely be only rare instances of when the average DIY-er / homeowner will need the power and abilities of a 1/2 inch drill. BUT, there is no getting around it when you DO need it.
My use for this drill was for drilling through oak, hardwood flooring to run Ethernet and TV cables down through the basement. The oak flooring proved no match for this powerful drill and the chuck accepted a bit big enough to drill a hole that would provide enough room for the cables. (especially the molded cable ends)
This is a variable speed drill. The speed is controlled by how far you pull the trigger in. This ability helps to prevent splintering and allows for more control when starting to drill the hole.
The drill is reversible through a switch above the trigger. A trigger lock, for continuous operation, is provided for when the drill is mounted in a drill press stand.
The motor's bearings are self -lubricating. Per Dewalt, the brushes will automatically stop the drill when they wear out so as to help prevent serious damage to the motor.
There's a 360º adjustable side handle that helps in keeping the drill steady.
Lastly, included is a rubber strap to keep the chuck key conveniently attached to the power cord.
I would have liked to have seen the drill come in it's own plastic carrying case but I suppose that the shipping box will suffice.
You may not need this drill very often but when you do it will not disappoint.
Built in the USA with global materials.
