After a lot of Review reading and searching the Internet which Metal Detector to Buy I Brought the Garrett Ace 250 Metal Detector and I am so pleased I did! Well built, Looks Great, and really easy to Set up and Use. It has electronic pinpointing. This helps you to accurately locate targets. There is an option to both accept/ and reject a discrimination signal and this will help you to modify discrimination patterns so you can find exactly what you are looking for. It has five different search modes which allows you to select pre-set discrimination level or you are able to create your own. The continuous coin depth indication helps you to determine your chosen targets depth. It also has a battery life display so you know where you stand with regards to power. Pushbutton Controls: with One-Touch operation. It can be broken down into 3-pieces to make both travel and storage that much easier. There is also an adjustable arm cuff for your comfort. The headphone jack size is a quarter-inch (1/4) . The search modes that are available on this model include, All Metal , Jewellery, Custom, Relics, Coins, Pinpoint. A Velcro strap is also present for securing the machine to your arm taking the weight strain away. The machine weighs Approx 1.2 kg and the size can be adjusted with easefrom 42 to 51 Garrett Ace 250 is easy to use you turn it on, and off you go. I cant wait to Take it to the beach and start using it. Who Knows what I will find :)

I always wanted to try my hand at metal detecting. About 10 years ago I borrowed a pals detector and just couldn't find bugger all. I was useless at it. I read the book cover to cover went to a field placed coins keys rings bolts ect and practiced but even then almost impossible. Anyway I seen a vidio on u tube with a chap banging on about the garrett ace 250 and I thought I wonder if I could have another go. Then I did a quick ebay search and fou d I could get o e of these ace 250 things for 189gbp I was gobsmacked cheep I thought compared to the price of the over priced thing I had borrowed some years previously. Today I drove to my mates farm opened the box assembled the detector put new batteries in it(removed the ones it came with altho they were duracel ones) and flicked through the hand book. I had this thing out the box turned on withing 10 min I found a queen Vic penny and then hit after hit. I found half a spur more coins (one hammered but poor cond) a few washers nuts bolts nails house shoes a butter knife (in a field??) and then rely got to grips with it and selected coin mode to ignore all the iron and nails ect and went on to find 3 more coins. My advice to anyone is if u are thinking of having a go at detecting grab one of these so simple to use u won't get urbreath I well happy with it

This detector works! Almost too good. I live in a house a few miles away from the Antietam Battlefield and my yard is FULL of stuff from the last 200 years. This metal detector is so good it detects lead glazes on pottery shards and we have tons of them. I have found multiple things so far but I am still trying to figure out how to use it to only detect particular metals and how to pinpoint exact locations. I didn't want to spend a lot of money for a first detector but wanted something that I knew would actually work well. This works and is pretty fun to use. My ONLY complaint is that you can not turn down the beeping sounds the detector makes and when I wear headphones with it I have to keep the headphones around my neck due to the really loud beeps. Otherwise, this is a great detector. I can see how more expensive ones give the detector-ist more info as to what is in the ground and how that would save some digging and labor. Would recommend the Garrett 250 to any one looking for a fairly inexpensive but highly functioning detector. Some people found a musket down the road worth thousands of dollars. Maybe I'll get lucky and find something like that too!
