28 أكتوبر 2023I bought this on sale to carry in the bush when hiking/fishing/hunting/camping, etc. Devil's Club grows huge and thick in our part of the world, and salmonberries, and mountain ash, all of which are very tough and fibrous. This thing mows through all of it with no issues. The blade is nicely balanced and has some decent heft to carry it through the thicker stems, the handle is grippy and feels nice in the hand while being easy to hold onto, and the sheath is very nice and holds the blade securely when not in use. The only real problem I have with it is the tip of the blade catching the inside of the sheath, it can be finicky and requires a bit of wiggling to get it sitting just right so the zipper can be done up. I think if the sheath had a UHMW or kydex liner, even just for the tip of the blade, it would solve this problem. Overall great bang for the buck when on sale, highly recommended!
Just ok

26 أبريل 2024I'm a serious user of things with sharp edges
And I personally feel like this machete by schrade is a little bit light and after a few years the rubber handle is a little loose
Though ive really abused it
Definitely worth the price if you want something compact also you can pretend to be a pirate
I think you'd be better off with a more traditional machete design
look cool and cheaper than other similarly poorly made machetes

11 فبراير 2021I used it heavy for a few hours a day while blazing a trail. Blade weight is about right, and I like the shape and thickness of blade. The tip of blade needs a bit bigger angle, more like reverse tanto to give strength to the tip and give more momentum to the swing. Grip needs more aggressive hook to it, hand becomes exhausted trying to hold the machete. Shouldn’t be like that. Also, while there is a hole to attach the wrist strap, full tung of the handle has a smaller hole with sharp edges therefore chaffing the strap in no time. Blade metal is so-so, can take a good edge but will roll from chopping very benign branches. I give it 3 out of 5. Nice supplement to my collection of chef knives and also works fine as chavetta when I cut tobacco leaves for rolling cigars. But as a trail-blazing tool it has a room for improvement. Would I recommend it? Yes, because it looks cool and cheaper than other similarly poorly made machetes.

18 مايو 2024It arrived extremely sharp, sharper than a razor blade. I used it once to weedwhack around my house. It chopped down grass and weeds, no problem. Very satisfied with the tool itself so far, but the case zipper immediately fell off. I couldn't zip it even one time. The blade seems great though.
